About us
A true Polish Town landmark, The Birchwood of Polish Town has been a Riverhead staple for over 80 years. In 2014, Danielle Sessa and her family reimagined The Birchwood while keeping the traditions and character that have made it a local favorite for generations.
The Birchwood is truly a family-run business. Danielle took on the restaurant alongside her parents, Jacqueline and Frank, whose support was an important part of bringing her vision to life. Her sister Angelica and brother Frank Anthony are also part of the Sessa family behind The Birchwood.
Today, The Birchwood is a local restaurant and bar serving traditional Polish favorites like pierogis and kielbasa, along with our well-known Sauerbraten, Penne Alla Vodka, fresh seafood, pasta, salads, and more.
We also offer a catering venue accommodating up to 200 guests for celebrations and special events, and our property is handicap accessible.
